AdJASA is hosting its 2019 conference from 5 to 6 March 2019 at Foxwood House, Houghton, Johannesburg.
The conference theme is ‘Administrative justice in and beyond the courts’ and you are invited to submit abstracts for a paper dealing with any topic under this broad theme. We are particularly interested in exploring mechanisms for the pursuit of administrative justice other than judicial review such as tribunals, ombud institutions, internal remedies, commissions, access to information, etc. Presentations focusing on the courts are, however, also welcome.
The conference aims to explore the theme in both practical and theoretical perspectives. Presentations drawing on practical experience as well as papers of a more theoretical nature are thus invited. The conference will take the form of a combination of individual paper presentations and panel discussions. Especially in relation to the latter, we invite delegates with practical experience of administrative justice in tribunals, commissions, internal mechanisms and the like to contact the organisers in order to participate in a panel discussion.
Please send abstracts of 300 words to Geo Quinot (firstname.lastname@example.org) by no later than 17 February 2019. Abstracts will be made available prior to the conference on the AdJASA website (www.adjasa.org), but please note that there is no requirement to submit completed papers before the conference.
Please feel free to circulate this call for papers as widely as possible and to contact the conference organisers with any queries.
