About us

The Administrative Justice Association of South Africa (ADJASA) is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting administrative justice in South Africa. ADJASA seeks to create a platform and community for those interested in the diverse aspects of administrative justice, and to facilitate the exchange of ideas and expertise. A highlight of the ADJASA calendar is the ADJASA conference, held every 18 months, at which prominent legal academics, practising lawyers and members of the public administration present thoughts and insights on issues currently shaping administrative law for discussion and debate.

Objects

The objects of ADJASA relate to all aspects of administrative justice.

In particular, to: 

• promote knowledge and interest;

• provide a forum for the exchange of information and opinions;

• disseminate information, both to organs of state and the public at large, about current developments in the field;

• encourage publication of papers, articles and commentaries;

• arrange lectures, seminars and conferences;

• cooperate with institutions of academic learning, and other institutions with an interest in administrative justice;

• protect and promote the rule of law and accountability through advocacy, engagement with public and private bodies, and litigation; and

• explore mechanisms to widen access to administrative justice.
